Over the next few weeks, this Substack will be focusing A LOT on the Women’s World Cup (and maybe some of those other tournaments here in the States). Before we mentally fly to the Pacific, however, I am writing a brief post to seek some ideas from my followers.
For those unaware, this account was started as part of a book project I am currently working on. It focuses on leadership and soccer managers. Recently, I ran into an issue with two chapters where the manager in the final chapter shifted to an earlier one. Thus I am currently looking for a new manager to hold up as an example of the leadership concept I am aiming to highlight.
So smart soccer people - what manager in soccer history is a good example of someone who pivoted their strategy or changed their style because it was not working, and found success? I have some candidates but want to throw the question out to the wider smarter soccer world. Leave your thoughts in the comments.
Next up - analysis and thoughts on WWC ‘23, maybe a new podcast, and more. Thank you for following!
